DESIGN PROCESS

Offering the full range of design services, I listen to and support my clients to achieve the inspirational outdoor space they dream of.

The very first step is a telephone conversation.  If you then decide that you would like to take it further and explore working with a designer to create your new garden, then the journey is usually as follows...

Each new project begins with a consultation for which there is a small fee. This first meeting with you on-site ensures I fully understand the space and your vision.

This is the start of the process of creating a Client Brief.

For any quality garden design it is essential to understand the lay of the land and so it is quite usual for a topographic land survey to be commissioned from which all drawings are based.  For small or simple projects the survey may be carried out ‘in house’.

Following a detailed site analysis and working from the client brief, a concept design is developed. This is supported by rendered plans, perspective visuals and mood boards for your approval - created using images to give a sense of style and colour for both planting and materials.

The combination of these drawings will enable you to visualise your new garden.

You will be guided through the tender process for the hard and soft landscaping, using professional

landscape contractors. I can also act as Project Administrator for you.

Planting design for gardens

A planting scheme is designed for your personal requirements. Focusing on year-round colour and interest using structural plants including trees, evergreens, shrubs and grasses set against the softer perennial plants in colour schemes of your choice.

Planting can be arranged if required.
